Our next event was going to the Missionary Training Center (MTC) is Provo for a week of training. We loved the atmosphere of all the other much younger Elders and Sisters called to go all over the world to teach the gospel.
MTC tradition is that you have to go to the map and show where you have been called to go. Who are we to change tradition? After getting all the necessary checking in events completed we went to our first meetings with about 40 other senior couples attending this week's training. We were put in District 10 with the Jefferies', Coleman's and Kaona's. Elder and Sister Coleman left on Friday morning to begin their journey to Cameroon, Africa. They are replacing a couple in the same mission as Jeff's parents are serving. Elder and Sister Kaona are going to serve a mission at the St.George Visitor Center (like Kim's parents). Elder and Sister Jefferies were the youngest of the Seniors and are serving in the Draper, Utah Stake.
Nancy got quite a few complements on her "sweet pen" that Lauren made along with a bouquet of flowers. Check it out...
A few of the key points from the last week:
*We teach with our head but we testify with our hearts.
*There is no growth in the comfort zone and there is no comfort in the growth zone.
*When hard times come upon us, get out of the boat and take the first steps (Peter).
One of my favorite quotes of the week was from Pres. Hunter, " A great indicator of one's personal conversion is the desire to share the gospel with others." We are converted!
